Luana Marques, PhD and Community Psychiatry PRIDE Receive $1.6M Grant for Outreach to Disadvantaged Youth

PRIDE brings resources existing within MGH to support underserved and vulnerable populations, partnering with community organizations to improve the lives of youth facing adversity by collaboratively developing, executing and testing innovative implementation models.

Luana Marques, PhD, of the Department of Psychiatry, and Community Psychiatry PRIDE were awarded a $1.6 million grant by Dalio Philanthropies. This three-year grant is focused on addressing the significant socioemotional needs of disengaged and disconnected youth by providing evidence-based training and coaching to staff working with these youth at three nonprofit organizations in Connecticut: 

PRIDE was founded in 2013 in order to bring resources that exist within Massachusetts General Hospital to support underserved and vulnerable populations. PRIDE partners with community organizations to improve the lives of youth facing adversity by collaboratively developing, executing and testing innovative implementation models. These models are designed to maximize the uptake and sustainability of evidence-based mental health strategies.

 

Luana Marques, PhD is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (HMS), the Director of Community Psychiatry PRIDE at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and the President of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).
