Juliana Chen, MD, Associate Director of the MGH Center for Cross-Cultural Student Emotional Wellness (CCCSEW), and Justin Chen, MD, MPH, medical director of the Ambulatory Psychiatry Services and Executive Director of the CCCSEW, have been selected as Clinical Scholars by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
This is a highly selective national opportunity that supports teams of experienced health care providers to sharpen their leadership skills and to collaborate on a project addressing complex health problems, with the ultimate goal of creating more just and thriving communities.
Drs. Chen and Chen will partner with Lily Chen, RN, MA, CNE, and Weiyang Xie, PhD from United Chinese Americans – UCA, a nonprofit grassroots organization focused on promoting civic engagement in the Chinese American community. The Clinical Scholars Program will provide $432,000 in funding over the course of 3 years to support the team’s project: “Breaking Silences in the Model Minority: A national intervention to increase mental health awareness and decrease stigma in Asian immigrant families.”
