The Division of Professional and Public Education will broaden the scope of educational programs and projects in the Department of Psychiatry.

The Department of Psychiatry is announcing the establishment of the Division of Professional and Public Education. Dr. David Rubin, Director of the Mass General/McLean Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency Training Program and Executive Director for the MGH Psychiatry Academy will serve as the Division’s Director.

Inclusive of a growing number of outwards facing programs in our department, such as the MGH Psychiatry Academy and the MGH Clay Center for Young and Healthy Minds, the Division will continue support for similar efforts aimed at broadening departmental reputation, innovation, and philanthropy for national and international educational service efforts.

Professor Gene Beresin, one of our country’s most distinguished clinician educators, has accepted the position of Director of Education for the Division. In a career spanning nearly a half century Dr. Beresin has served in countless leadership roles locally and nationally. Known as a tireless serial innovator, author, editor and teacher, his work has been widely celebrated, having received many of our field’s most prestigious teaching awards. We are delighted to have Dr. Beresin among us!
